A Thanksgiving Prayer

I first heard this almost 3 decades ago, and while some of the references are dated, I don’t believe it’s any less meaningful. Perhaps in fact, the truth of the sentiment has been part of what has killed the celebration of Thanksgiving.

Maybe it’s not quite dead for all, but where it once was a staple, in our public forums it is now just an after thought. At most, it’s a break and an opportunity to begin shopping for Christmas presents.

Speaking of which, if ever there was a war over Christmas, it was long ago lost in the marketplaces of America.
