The CEO Should be the first to Go

Reading the headlines, it would appear that Corporate America hired too many folks for headquarters. From Facebook to Amazon, layoffs are rampant. So how did we get to this point? How does a company hire 17,000 people that it doesn’t need? Hell if I know.

But what I do know is that it starts at the top. So I propose a change to how American businesses let go of thousands of people. I propose we start at the top and work our way down, rather than start in the middle. If a CEO is such a bad judge of their business needs that they end up with so many redundancies that they can afford to sack a few hundred, then they’re obviously not the right person for the job.

Let’s get rid of them. Let’s get rid of the problems at the top, not the folks in the middle that actually do the damn work. Seems like a fair solution to me, how about you?
